LoCo Omaha has officially launched in the community, as reported on in an earlier article by the Omaha World-Herald.
Starting in February 2021, LoCo Omaha has served the Omaha metro area as the community’s only locally-owned and operated restaurant delivery service. Run as a co-operative owned by local restaurants, LoCo Omaha provides restaurant owners equity opportunities and control of the delivery process. LoCo Omaha serves as a solution to the high cost of national third-party food delivery services by providing restaurants a share of the profits and charging lower commissions than national competitors such as Grubhub and Postmates.
Since February, the Get LoCo app has received more than 6,000 downloads from customers eager to support local restaurants and pay lower prices for delivery. In addition, the team is currently adding about 60 restaurants to the platform, with new eateries preparing to be available for delivery soon.
