Welcome to LoCo Omaha!
Launched in 2020, LoCo is a co-operative food delivery service company owned and operated by local restaurant owners who control the service through a board of directors. By charging restaurants fair commission rates and offering customers superior service, LoCo serves as a sustainable alternative to third-party delivery services while maintaining local ownership as a pillar of its business model.
Formed as Nebraska LoCo Co-Operative LCA, LoCo Omaha is like the old-school farmer co-operatives Nebraska helped pioneer 100+ years ago. Co-operatives are different from other business entities primarily for two reasons:
1. COLLABORATIVE CONTROL: Each member of a co-operative purchases one share and has an equal vote in electing the board of directors and deciding on matters that come before the membership. Members can hold only one share and that share does not decrease or increase in value and can not be sold without the co-operative’s permission.
2. PROFITS & PATRONAGE DIVIDENDS: Every year, the net margins are distributed to members, based primarily on how much they use the co-operative.
